Absolutely, the "blue top" may be a slightly better choice, but the
yellow top Optima battery is an excellent battery.  FYI there is no
chance of damaging your SS, if you use an improper battery (as long as
it is 12 Volt) the only problem you will have is the battery won't
last very long, or may not have enough amps to supply your 12 volt
needs very long.  One advantage of the Optima battery is they are
truly "No Maint." and vibration has very little effect on them.  I use
a Red Top Optima in my Dirt Track Stock Car and have no problems,
though it is the least desirable of the Optima models to use.

I was given an optima yellow top battery and though the blue top seems
to be 
the one recommended, can I use the yellow top in  our '66 SS?  Being
almost 
all original I'd hate to damage her in any way.
