We are using a standard off the shelf microwave which we purchased at Best
buy.  Much less expensive than the "RV microwaves".  The problem is securing
then for travel.  I put the anti-skid material under mine and anchored it
with 3/4" wide strap attached to the cabinet floor.

You need to watch which circuit you connect the microwave.  You do not want
it on the same circuit as the A/C if you have one.

How to run the wiring to the back of the microwave?

By a special RV Microwave or just a small apartment size one?
