At least by 1979 the "wood" is a printed sorta veneer - thin plywood hollow 
core doors and partitions. Kinda cheap looking. Scratches show light color 
of the base plywood or particle board.
(Hollow core makes for light weight.)
The birch plywood in my '52 Spartanette (park trailer, not a travel trailer) 
is much nicer. Really pretty!
The Spartan is single wall construction (thin birch plywood on inside does 
not count) instead of the SS's double wall. Single wall with plywood interior 
seems easier to heat - no aluminum interior skin attached to the ribs (studs) 
to conduct heat. SS double wall is probably more rigid even though the interior 
skin is pop riveted, not solid riveted like the exterior skin.
