[SilverStreak] 12 volts for new refridgerator

If your old fridge was a 3-way, the 12 volts is already there.

The little 12v you need for the fridge is very slight load and draw. I used 
a small gel cell like on burglar alarm or deer feeder. Get anywhere for $20 
or so at hardware store like Handy-Andy, Ace, Radio Shack, like that. Just 2 
light gauge wires and 2 spade connectors. Takes small and large spade for 
the little battery. Put the little battery in the ample space behind the 
fridge. Battery is under vacuum and can lay on side, whatever. Keep the 
little battery charged with a plug in the wall cheapy charger like on your 
cell phone, desk clock, etc. Get charger that says 13.8 VDC output at 400 to 
600 MA (milliamps). Plug that into outlet by the fridge. Little charger 
available everywhere like Radio Shack and Wal-Mart. Don't get bigger 
charger. Bigger is too much. Battery will last for at least 3 years.

All this assumes you bought a 2 way fridge running on LP and 120 volts with 
a 12 volt display panel and controller.

If you insist on wiring 12 volts to trailer, make sure you have modern 
charger converter and not old buzz box. Old buzz box puts out too much 
voltage, has no "float" and can kill the new fridge electronics. Voltage to 
fridge is stated not too exceed 14.8 volts DC and will probably die at 15.2 
volts. Your buzz box easily and quickly exceeds that voltage.

Nearest 12 volt wiring access will be to porch light or thru the cabinets to 
overhead lamp source.
