Uh Ralph,

Bad advice there ....

'Split rims' are a misnomer for locking rims and hardly any
tire dealers work on them anymore because of the liability.

There has to be a cage to change them in for starters .....
Not to mention the tires are a 'tubed' type and you have to 
change the tubes with the tires.

The hole for the tube does not accept a standard valve stem
and cannot be used with a tubeless tire.

The only reason to keep a locking rim would be for authenticity
in a much older vintage coach or travel trailer for the
purpose of concourse or show judging.

Locking rims are not practical and offer no practical advantage.

A Carlisle six inch 6 x 5.5 white spoke wheel is about $35 at Discount Tire.
