Go get a new 'ring' from thetford. Just disconnect the water supply, unbolt 
the toilet, and pull it up. Do the flooring. Put the new 'ring' in place and 
bolt the toilet back. The 'ring' is a foam composite rather than the wax 
type for the home.
You may also want to put flooring under the 'collar' that holds the tank to 
the pedestal. It screws into the tank and may be attached to the pedestal 
with screws. It will be obvious when you pull up the toilet.
