Too bad about the dent but you may be able to fix it easily?  Thanks for sharing.  
I just had my stabilzers replaced on my 1977 (part that connects trailer axles to 
frame of trailer and rocks back and forth between the wheels where the springs 
connect) and I did check the wiring after the job was done.  They do not seem to 
be in any path of getting damaged at this point.
