RE: [SilverStreak] Broken hinges and Door handle

Someone on this list obtained a set of door hinges and were going to
have them copied before they installed them on their Silver Streak.  I
don't know if they ever located a foundry to cast the hinges.  If
anyone reads this that knows what the status of the "Hinge Project" is
perhaps they will email you, or post on the Tom's Silver Streak Board.

You may try taking the parts of the hinge assembly to a shop that does
"TIG" wielding of various metals.  That is the only wielding process
that will repair the "Pot Metal" hinge, and then the wielder must be
quite experienced.

As for the door handle, you will need to look into replacing the
handle and lock with a commercial unit modified to fit the door.
Perhaps an Airstream handle and lock can be adapted.
