Colin, Colin, we all pay attention to you on VAL and SS. We are appreciative of your words. Good info and much thanks. All mentioned is of interest to me. I have a 77-1/2 GMC Eleganza II, Streamline Motor homes 5050 and 5053, Silver Streak 30' Supreme Lux Liner, and Streamline Imperial Count 31' (fire). The Streamline MH Hinges are good, but rusty steel. Each door uses three. The Silver Streak use only two, pot metal, and were only as good as the failure of the prior owner to thrust bush and keep lubed. The Streamline 31 uses steel, but the bottom one rusted and the fire dept broke it at the pin wrap. The GMC hinges are perfect and I maintain them. You can see my interest in SS hinges for all of these. The SS will react with aluminum, but slower than steel, or even aluminum itself to itself. The reaction can be virtuall stopped using diode heatsink dielectric grease before application just like CPU processors. I am very interested in progress on this for me. -Eddie- (713)694-8084 24hrs or email, EddieHuffstetter@hotmail.com
