This "thing" is plugged into any of your outlets in the trailer. Can also plug into your site hookup if you want to take a quick check, but I leave ours plugged in the outlet just to the left, inside the door. Hunter, in our trailer, it's just under the magazine rack inside the door. I'm sure many of you out there in "Airstream land" know exactly what I'm talking about and what they are really called. My concern is, there must be a difference in quality, as ours was more sensitive than the other camper and managers. Ours read something wrong with the grounding, theirs said it was OK. The shocks told me otherwise.
