Don't know if this is anything like you are referring to when getting "zapped", but last summer while travelling into northern NY, stopped for 2 nites at a KOA. We were all hooked up to water and elect. While getting stuff out of the rear outside storage of the Airstream, I was kneeling on very moist ground, reaching into the storage compartment my arm would rub on the Airstream. I kept feeling a "zing" or something "sharp" on my arm. Was thinking I was getting some metal shavings from the trailer. Upon exploring this further, I deducted I was getting "shocks" from our trailer! Now this was our first major trip with the trailer, but had used on numerous occasions locally and had used the elect hook ups. We have one of those plug -ins you put into an elect socket to monitor the electricity at the sites. The previous owner of our trailer said to keep this plugged in at all times, and if wasn't lit up correctly, don't use the elect at that site. When later going into the trailer I happened to see the wrong pattern of lights was lit on this circuit checker "thing -a -ma -bob". But all our elect was working. I went over to another site where a man was sitting and asked if he had gotten any shocks. He said no. And coincidently was an electrician. (Now what is the chance of that happening again?) He had some sort of meter and brought it over to our site and checked the park box where we hooked into. Sure enough something was wrong with the grounding of the park wiring. This electrician also had one of those circuit checker "thing -a -ma -bobs" like ours but a different brand. His was showing the elect box was OK, but his meter showed otherwise. He suggested not using that elect hookup. We notified the manager of the park, he checked the elect box with a similar circuit checker "thing -a -ma -bob" but not the same brand as ours. His too, showed the box to be OK. Although the electricians meter read something definitely wrong with the grounding, and our circuit checker said something was wrong. The park manager felt our checker had something wrong with it. We opted to use our battery and got money back for elect costs. No more shocks, and not happened again. I am sure glad we have this circuit checker "thing -a -ma -bob" and keep it plugged in at all times.

Just a long story of a short experience.
