I was so busy sympathizing about the car shock I forgot to type in my airstream question. I plan on rewiring the Globetrotter this winter. I've ordered a book on wiring (like for homes) so I can at least get an understanding because I'm starting from a zero knowledge base - I flick on a switch and something magic happens. My only wiring experience is with a '57 MGA - everytime I downshifted and took a corner my window wipers would come on and then wouldn't stop. I tried to figure out the problem, finally gave up and disconnected the wiring and lived without wipers. A desperate move for an Oregonian.

Is there something special about the 12V wiring that I should know about or will the regular home wiring cover it?

I really want to learn and do it myself so I'm not going to take it in to someone else; however, I do NOT want to end up some pathetic freak shock casualty on CNN.

Can anyone give any insight? Thanks.
