On the subject of add a rooms. My major objection to add a rooms to camping trailers is that they cut out too much light. A friend of mine made a wonderful change to his add a room. The roof of his add a room is not your normal opaque awning. Rather, he made the roof from a translucent tarp.
It lets lots of light in but protects one from the bugs and rain. My guess is if the sun becomes a problem and makes a sauna out of the add a room one could lay some opaque material on the translucent roof. That's what I would call having my cake and eating it too.
