I am one of those wannabe Airstream people and, of course, I have been lurking on this site ever since I found it. So I am hoping that out of all the people on this site who give such sage advice concerning everything about Airstreams can help me.

My heart is set on acquiring an Airstream; however, I have the opportunity (provided that it checks out) to purchase a Vintage Silverstreak (1949 Clipper) . Is anyone familiar with this model and more specifically with Silverstreaks vs. Airstreams - somewhere I think I remember reading they were made for a few years and made like the Airstream - are they as good, almost, inferior or what??

P.S. - I always thought it was Silverstream, but it was listed as a Silverstreak?
