Well, theoretically you ought not to need an external regulator if the
internal regulator works (and your rig has one). However, I have heard
a
number of horror stories of RV plumbing being blown out by excess pressure
at
RV parks. So the external regulator is some extra insurance against
that
problem. At $10, its cheap insurance. All you do is hook the regulator
on
the end of the supply hose -- I leave mine attached all the time, even
when
the hose is in storage -- so I never forget to use it. Some RVers keep
an
extra around in case they leave/lose it.
