I'm with Bob. Our family has used Corelle in the 'stream for decades  and though the Aluminum crumpled when our trailer jacknifed in '74, the  Corelle was unscathed. It may not be the most elegant dinnerware, but  it certainly does the job while on the road. In terms of keeping it  intact, we lined all of our upper cabinets with the slip-proof rubber  mesh. Nothing in between any of the dishes. Also, where one's dinnerware is as practical as Corelle, one may still dress up a table with flowers and linens - they weigh next to nothing! (and applying a two-purpose use for everything - the linens can serve as togas while you're doing laundry and the flowers can be dried for potpourri!)
