I wondered about that too, Jim. My '66 doesn't have any discernible
pads...my owner's manual says to place the jack on the frame members which
are 15" in from the outer edge...that's where I put 'em, but it doesn't look
a bit different from anywhere else on the belly...hope I've been doing right!
