I loved the 50s..... it was a very happy time in the US..... very different from now. The cars were also very cool. Two tones.... great colors, yellow, turquoise, pink, lots of chrome and fins.

The fabrics had lots of boomerangs....... shapes

If I were you I would do it like a 50s diner. Behind the stove and counter you could put sunburst pattern stainless for example. Very effective.

A great Airstream to look at is the one in the MTV lobby..... I can't find the URL.... does anyone still have it? It's done in 50s kitsch.

Pastel colors, or curtains with fruit in primary colors.... chrome.
