I think you are in good shape. That is what I had on the 61 Tradewind that I sold to the Westons. We tried 4 ply passenger tires for a while and they just would not hold up, but the 6 ply 700.15's never gave me any problems.

Subject: [a/s] trailer tires

I just bought our '62 Tradewind last fall with new 'great' tires. With the recent tire posts, I decided to check out what I have. They are Kelly-Springfield Safari L-T 7.00X15, load range D, with 6 ply tread and 4 ply sides. Can someone please comment on the quality of these tires? I do plan on using the Slime suggested earlier to prevent flats, but are these sidewalls OK for a 4400 pound trailer? Thanks in advance, and 'stream on',
