Doug, Ned and others,
I would be cautious about run flat tires on a trailer. My reason for
this is that when you get a flat or low tire on run flats, you don't feel
a profound difference, just a suttle handling change. I think that this
change would be completely missed on a trailer and you would tend to
not know you have a low tire or a flat until the tire fails catastrophically.
I have driven a car with run flats and not known a tire was low until the
tire overheated and blew a sidewall, very dangerous. Just my opinion, but
I think it deserves a little more investigation!
