Thanks, Rick and everybody on some providing some very interesting info
on split rims. It's good to know that, should we 'stream in the U.S., a
tire shop SOMEWHERE could likely replace or fix a tire problem. On the
subject of hubcaps - it is for that very reason that my dad refused to
change from 6 ply 70015 truck tires (split rims) this year: the hubcaps
for his trailer are in perfect shape - would pass even Jim Weston's inspection!
If dad were to switch to regular rims, he would not be able
to use his much-loved hubcaps!
