I too tried the mirror thing. Mine was smaller than yours and I did not have a neat way to attach it to the jack. Yours sounds really good.

The system I described with the two rods would not work well in the dark. I did not mention it but one rod is fluorescent green and the other orange.

I think I'll try the mirror thing again and this time do it more like you did.
