I have carpeted over my '63 SilverStreak's floor furnace. Just heat using a terracotta pot (make sure it has the drain hole in the bottom!) and 12 volt fan over stove. The original floor unit turned the insulated trailer into a sweat lodge.
Don't forget the use of suction hooks on the aluminum surface. Anything to prevent another unnecessary hole in the skin!
Please forgive me if my reply is inappropriate or whatever. Do not do this. It is the same as an unvented portable heater. You must have a source of oxygen.
All of the combustion gases go into the coach and use up the oxygen. Carbon dioxide will kill you by putting you to sleep. You might as well use the oven to heat. It is no better. Don't take my word for it, call your local Fire Dept. Thanks for my chance to save a life. Merry Christmas.
