Doug, personally I believe it is a toss-up whether Coleman or Dometic. I have about decided there is no such thing as a really fine product by anybody anymore.

But I do have a question about the possibly increased weight of a heat pump/airconditioning unit as over against the A/C by itself, with the heat strip added (which adds virtually no weight). Neither heat pump nor heat strip is meant to warm the unit in really cold weather. Both work best when ambient temp is 40 degrees or above.

Furthermore, neither is a substitute for the furnace which in sub-freezing weather is needed to kick heat into the space around the holding tanks.
