I checked out the Formica site, and sure enough, there's a whole passel o' metal finishes to choose from. The "complete" sample sets at two large building supply places did not include any of these"DecoMetals". (Amazing me how I occasionally just forget to use the web. In spite of how much I DO use it, once in a while I just go merrily along the pursuing the old pathways. Thanks for waking me up, Bassman.)

I agree about not using such laminate or plastic "metal" on countertops, Tom & Catherine. Only way to do that is with real stainless. But I'm thinking about Corian. Need to watch the weight, but I think the 1/4" stuff could be made to work, though it might need stiffeners underneath.

Neat stuff.  I see the site is Asia.  Can you get it in the US? (snip) Can I just go to a Formica Distributor?
Yup: "formica.com" has digital catalog (look for "DecoMetal"), and a look-up for retailers who handle it.
