Does anyone have an opinion about serpentine vs. stacked, self regulating transmission coolers? Is there ever a danger of getting the fluid too cool with the serpentine? Does a trans temp gauge measure the fluid coming out of the tranny, or going back in. If one does opt for the remote filter/ cooler combo, should steel braided lines be used? And special fittings? Seems like if you're going to take your transmission fluid for a trip around the engine compartment and back, a lot of unpleasant things could happen along the way. And how about electric aux fans for the radiator? Anyone know which model/ brand fits '87 Sub?-Courtney

Figure you've got not only the external filter, but the lines running
back and forth, therefore the overall capacity is increased by more than
a quart, the filter acts to trap smaller particles than the in-pan filter,
the gauge allows one to monitor any heating, normal or otherwise and makes
one a more
informed driver. However, anyone can argue anything........soooo, my
philosophy is everybody has to do what they think is right. I just happen
to agree with your very astute thought process.
