I sent below message out last week. I got a response that Jim Weston could/ or has fabricated tail lamps for his rig and can do so for others. You might want to check him out if you want to insure you stay "authentic" with metal.
The tailights on my '56 bubble were rusted out (inside and out). Trying to find a replacement that would fit the 1 1/2" space between outer and inner walls was getting discouraging. NAPA Auto Parts store had a perfect fit of a light encased in rubber and called Elastrometric Rubber Cushion Lamp, model #'s 4522 (two
wire) and 4521 (single wire), depth of 1 3/8". At 4 1/2 inches they fit perfectly and look good. Yes the outer ring and the housing are all rubber and lens pops out for bulb changing. Around $17.00 ea. Some day maybe I can fabicate a chromed exterior rim to match original or maybe I can find a trim rims somewhere.
