Several manufacturers of aluminum bicycles have also tried clear coating. They all got smart and left them bare or painted them. Clearcoat truly does not stick to aluminum. Unfortunately, I also see why we would want a good clear coat on our airstreams; it only takes 10 minutes to polish a bike!
