I talked to a mechanic at an ex-Airstream dealer in the DFW area, and
the
clear coat problem has been severe in the last several years. According
to
him, airstream has changed the supplier for the clear coat, and the
newer
supplier has really messed up the formula, even changed it a bunch
of times
in the last few years. He also indicated that airstream was not honoring
warranty work on the equipment that has clear coat problems. It may
be just
sour grapes, but it seems there is some truth.
