Hi Ernie!

Welcome to the list. I have a 94 Sovereign...... the man I bought it from
bought a another 94 A/S and if I remember correctly he had to take it back up
to Jackson for a new clearcoat. Seems like there were some problems for a
few years.... I wrote him last night and got this very useful reply........
unfortunately he chose to shout it so it's in caps )c:

HELLO HUNTER,
WE HAD PROBLEM WITH TRAILER WE NOW HAVE. AIRSTREAM
WILL COVER RECOATING ON THEIR WARRANTY. THEY PRORATE
BASED ON YEARS OF USE. TELL PEOPLE YOU TALKED WITH TO
CONTACT SHARON RHODES (DIRECTOR OF WARANTY&SERVICE)
AT AIRSTREAM IN JACKSON CENTER OHIO. SHE CAN HELP WITH
PROCESSING A CLAIM TO GET SURFACE RECOATED. OUR TRAILER
FINISH HAD SOME SURFACE OXIDATION DUE TO A COMPLETE
LOSS OF FINISH. AREAS LIKE THIS NEED TO BE POLISHED BEFORE
RECOATING. AIRSTREAM DOES NOT HAVE PERSONNEL WITH
TRAINING TO DO THIS. STEVE RUTH IN HELENA OHIO CAN DO
POLISHING AND RECOATING. AIRSTREAM NO LONGER USES STEVE
TO WORK ON CUSTOMERS TRAILERS-SINCE HE IS NOT PART OF
THE AIRSTREAM DEALERSHIP NETWORK; HOWEVER, STEVES WORK IS
SUPERIOR AND EXCEDES ANY REPLASTICISING BY THE FACTORY.
HOPE THIS IS INFORMATION YOU NEED.>>

So now you know all I know. hope this helps.

Hunter
