Check out the Iowa Boys on the web: http://www.iowaboys.com/

They have a '71 Caravel and two '68s for sale, and plenty of pix to get an idea of condition. Their prices seem consistently way high to me, but they're in L.A. They may also expect to deal heavily on price, I don't know. To get an idea of price vs. condition, check all the old ads at Airstream.net and Airstream Central on the web.

Ed Stanley of the VAC has a standard response which is that you should expect to pay $3,000 to $6,000 depending on condition, and more if really nice and no work needed. This is apparently regardless of size or model, but I've also heard that the smaller vintage trailers are worth more than
the larger ones.

If it *is* pristine and in the above price range, and needs little or no work I'd snap it up.

Disclaimer: I'm very new at this, so don't take my word for anything. Get all the comparison info you can, wherever you can. Check the Q&A on Airstream.net to get Ed Stanley's advice on what to look for in terms of checking out the condition of the trailer. Take it to an RV mechanic (like Camping World) and have them check out all the systems. They can give you an idea of how much more you'll have to spend to get it in order.
