I guessed it was for a separate battery dedicated to emergency brakes. I have four golf carts under a bed, and will connect the break away up to them. I hope those golf batterries inside your trailer are sealed since any other type of batteries will vent off hydrochloride gas which in a closed environment (ie, such as the inside of an Airstream) can 1) ignite and 2)be dangerous to breathe.

Please check for safety sake.
