In a group of "old timers" talking of their experiences, there was agreement that NO offbrand hitch balls should be used such as those sold at KMart or Walmart of flea markets, etc., just because they
are less expensive. It was agreed that the only acceptable one was by Reese but even then they should be replaced depending on the miles covered and the kinds of stress (rough roads, etc.) and
that the ball must be 2 5/16" and l0,000 pound rating.
