As a cautious Brit, I find it extremely strange that US trailers do not appear to come equipped with a parking brake...whyever not? I'm not saying that European caravans are marvellous, but they have a parking brake which is the first thing you do before unhitching on a hill, supplemented with chocks if necessary, a "belt and braces"  approach, but one which seems eminently sensible, IMHO

Is your head VERY wedge shaped Jon..have you seen Coneheads?

Dear ol' dads 22' trailer had a parking brake, now that you jog my wedge shaped memory. 'Cept those were cable connected, inertia activated brakes. Electric brakes would need constant power to stay on, which I'm sure you would appreciate if you're using your head at the time.

Another sunny warm day in California, Marie. Come over and buy an Airstream or two, the ultimate shopping trip. Jon
