Many years ago, a friend and wife were towing an Airstream (his fathers) across Florida on one of those arrow-straight, crowned roads through the swamps. When he noticed that the trailer wasn't there, he instinctively slammed on the brakes. A few seconds later, the trailer, tracking very nicely on the ctrowned road, rear-ended them. Fortunately, damage was slight.
