Jon,

With respect to the tankless water heaters, what type are you looking at? I  too am planning to purchase one within the next month but have only found the PrecisionTemp 5000 from Camping World for about a grand. It was on sale last year for about $700 but have not seen it featured in their ads since.

Any other ideas? I sure would like to get this price down but I really could use one of these water heaters with 5 of us taking showers!

Thanx,

Tom H.

Now I could live without hot water, us English only wash once a month, but those tankless heaters
are getting better and cheaper due to all the Euroweenies buying them. The Atwood and Suburban
tank heaters only last a couple of years, used full time, the $80 control unit keeps going out, I'm on
my third and they're a pain to replace. Some tankless heaters are guaranteed 10 years and can be
replaced when they scale up.

I've scoured the web and it seems the options are quite finite. Here's a good comparison
http://www.jademountain.com/hwchart.html . Also consider the Bosch unit at
http://www.a-ball.com/new/bosch.html and at http://www.astravan.com/installation.html

For my money I reckon the Aquastar AQ80 ( cheapest price found about $500) is the best .
Recently, Bosch bought Aquastar and I don't know what that will do to their product lines
(especially the AQ80 and the Bosch W125K - my second choice)  Here's some more links for you to sort out, get back to me after you've read some of them and let me know what you think.

You'll see that there's a lot to be considered, flow rates, venting, thermostats, weight and size, but
overall I want one as soon as possible.
