Ted, Hunter and anyone else with DSS knowledge,

I have some questions about DSS:

I recently purchased a DSS system for home use; what I bought was a Sony (Directv), with a dual LNB so that my adult son could watch his tv with some independence. I have an extra dish to use on my trailer because of the package I received.

Can I hook up my extra dish and utilize my home system which isn't being used when I travel?

What about the phone line? We hardly ever buy pay per view, so does that mean I can use it without the phone line?

My system at home has an amplifier, vcr, etc., and seems like it has too many connections to do/undo on a regular basis. Is it more feasible to puchase a system and a plan for the camper, so that the service goes away when not needed?

What about mounting the antenna? I don't want to mount it onto the trailer, what about the tripod? Is it sturdy? What about portability and storage? How about leaving the antenna unattended? Theft?

What about adding satellite connections to the camper? (1973 Excella 500 rear twins). Right now we have a tv table in the rear with a connection as well as the connection in the living room area next to the refrigerator. These, I assume have the old 300 ohm wiring which was installed when the camper was built. For cable at campgrounds, we use a 75 ohm connection to the front via the refrigerator access hatch, (outside) where there is a 50 foot coil with connectors.

I suppose there are more questions to be answered, but I haven't got a clue what they are until I run into a situation where I haven't been.

I would appreciate any info you give.

Thank you,
