Hunter,

Eliminate the trailer wiring by hooking up the dish directly to the receiver and the receiver to the tv per the manual for the dish.

Do not attempt to aim the antenna thru trees or other obstructions - these will attenuate or block the signal significantly.

See if it works now -- my neighbor got a D.O.A. dish first time, this could be the problem.

If the dish works, check your trailer-- our inside tv antenna jack has a small switch with 2 positions. The first turns on a red LED (light) powering up the preamp in the roof mounted tv antenna. The other position turns out the LED and switching the receptacle to the cable tv port on the outside of the trailer -- on our '97 Safari the outside cable jack is located inside the rear bumper compartment next to the telephone receptacle on the left side. I would think you should be able to operate the satelite system from here (I have seen it done by folks in our unit) but I could be wrong on this.

As previously suggested, make sure the antenna platform is level. Make sure you have adjusted the antennas azimuth (compass direction - you need a compass to do this) and antenna elevation (up-down) are correct off of the aiming information for the zipcode you are visiting. You may not get a signal if you are aiming the antenna thru trees.

I helped set up one of these for the neighbor across the street and channel 100 has a good strong signal, but it takes a little finageling to get it on the "mark" for a good picture on the rest of the channels. (there is an inline voltmeter satellite types use to adjust the antenna that they can read at the antenna - just in case their neck won't stretch enough to see the tv from where the antenna is. I think they are about $50 max from SkyVision). This voltmeter may be a worthwhile accessory in your case.

Hope this helps. Sounds like you are having fun.
