Hey Mr. & Mrs. Biscuit, ;-)

I've got one of those silly questions. How does one get to the seams, vents, etc. on top of the trailers? Are they sturdy enough to stand, sit, or kneel on? Climb on from the side? Any thing to be careful of? Thanks for laughing with me....and hopefully not too hard at me.

Get yourself an 8' - 2x4 - catch the wife NOT looking & grab yourself 4 good bath towels. Wrap them around the 2 x 4's. Elevate to last section going vertical straight - to where it starts to form the round going over the top.  Place the 2 x 4 parallel with this section & tape with duct tape (4
sections).

This will give you the strength of the structural stringers bulkheads, that will allow you to lean on the trailer with a ladder. That is IF you don't weight 300+ pounds. Be sure to stake the bottom of the ladder to keep it from slipping. You will be safe there if you have to lean over. Try to stay on the stringers (these are the sections you will see the rivets running from top to bottom vertically).

If you're coming through Oklahoma - stop & see me and I'll caulk the top for free! We LOVE Tradewinds - we JUST picked up a 1961 from Ned Digh in Kansas this last weekend. That makes 4 Airstreams and counting!!!!

GENUINE AIRSTREAM ADDICTS!!
