Ha ha ha .. I've done the same thing and it is impossible to keep
rugs on it. They curl up by the cabinets and make things look worse,
not to mention that the sofa is so snug to the floor that once you
put a carpet down you can't open the drawer under it! >>
 

Have you tried "CarpetSaver" from Camping World (pg 127 of the '99 catalog,
item F). We love this stuff. We leave it down all day to collect dirt and
roll it up once we are in for the night. Next morning just shake out the
dirt and roll it out again.
Doesn't creep around and is washable.
(But you still can't open the sofa drawer.)
