Tom,
I'm kind of going on blind faith on this one! I don't really know too
much
about it. It is a clear epoxy that can be spread directly on the sub
flooring. After the epoxy is spread, (I think they actually spray it
down)
material such as rock chips or other "stuff" is put on the surface,
then
more epoxy is put over the top. The amount of epoxy on top of the "stuff"
determines how "grippy" the final surface is. I have some samples and
they
really are tough and flexible. I've tried abusing them in various ways
by
repeatedly flexing them and by scratching them with metal objects.
They
look great! Durability is an important issue with me since I will be
living
full time with wife and two large dogs. My only hesitation has been
that
the glossy surface is a urethane coating, easily re-applied, but I
wonder
how often. I went to a store that had this type of floor applied 2
years
ago, looked good! I'll post pictures of it when it's done.
