How about taking the tiles from under cabinets or frig and using them for  patching. Either replace or leave bear what you remove. If it can't be seen it serves no purpose.

My guess it that the ceramic tiles was an aftermarket floor as I have never heard of ceramic being used except in the last few years in MH and 5Wheels.
