I have previously had very bad experience with a pressed wood product with a finish which was almost like a contact-type plastic fnish -- and may have been. If it  gets well, not just damp, it comes loose and even disintegrates over time. VALUE: it is light weight.

We replaced it with a Hartco oak laminate (as in plywood which is a laminate), 3/8 " thickness. I highly recommend it, or Bruce (and I hear that Bruce and Hartco are all under the same ownership now.)
