You know, that just might work...you would still have to be really careful to get the seams between planks carefully glued without any gaps where moisture could seep in.

Also, although I wouldn't put Pergo installation in the same category as plumbing (I really hate plumbing), it was not nearly as easy to install as the brochure and those perky salespeople at Home Depot led me to believe...a 9 x 14 room took my wife and I almost 3 days to complete.
