I have a Pergo brochure in front of me. It claims that the core is moisture resistant. In the Pergo original stain guide they recommend that for chocolate, grease, juice, cordials, wine, cigarette butts that one use lukewarm water and a mild detergent. In bathrooms they recommend a silicone seal be maintained around the floor's edges to keep water from seeping in around the edges, running underneath.

They even have a section for the kitchen. They claim, that spills and stains can't penetrate the sealed surface. In the section entitled Entrance they claim that drippy umbrellas, muddy sneakers, tar, dirt and everything that the cat drags in would not be a problem.

So, I would think if installed in an Airstream, one might want to take their caveat and seal the outside edges of the flooring with silicone and you would be quite safe.

I suppose that I am being a tad argumentative because in the end, I just might go with vinyl tiles. If I don't, I'll have to tear up the wood flooring I have in the kitchen area so that the wooden flooring is consistent throughout. It would look odd with one kind of flooring juxtaposed to a different one, especially in such a small space. Vinyl tiles if appropriately chosen might just look a lot better, easier to install and perhaps even less expensive.
