Hey Tom and Catherine, I meant to respond last week about your trip to Borrego, but got side tracked. I have friends in that area ( far west Imperial Valley) and I have also seen some very vintage trailers including one Pierce Arrow in that area. Wally Byam worked for Curtiss Wright during the war and I'm sure he had something to do with their aluminum trailer program. When he left them in 47 he took enough aluminum to build 20 coaches. I think those were the 20 that were built at " the L.A. metrpolitan airport " in 1947. That coach you saw in the desert could be one of them. Tell me where it is and I'll have my friend in the valley fly over and check it out.

Are you in the unit with Tom Reed? He's in line to be our next VAC president, real nice guy with a beautiful wife and prize winning coach. He's heading up a group to go to the Hobo rally over in Blythe next month. Are you going? Hope to meet you in Dayton.
