If anyone has other suggestions for maintaining the cleanliness of our Airstreams, I for one would be pleased to learn about it.
For my 99 Bambi (and more importantly, cuz I'm a full-timer in it), my blue carpetting gets REALLY dirty in something under two days of normal use.

The first step toward "fixing" the problem was the purchase of a Dirt Devil Ultra. I suspect it's much like the one you have, but I do note that the D.D.U. (just made that up, could you tell?) has a VERY aggressive rotating brush, and the motor makes SO much noise that I'm tempted to believe that
it's really doing a pretty spectacular job.

Then, immediately thereafter, along came serious problem #2. Stains on the carpet. The WORST being that cussed Community coffee that Doug has so kindly got me addicted to now. THANKS, Douglas!!! OK, OK, I admit it, it's SERIOUS coffee.

Anyway, the cure turned out to be one of the Bissel "little green machine" hand held Spot Lifters. It has a button on it to spray a fairly decent amount of the liquid cleaner directly on the stains, and it seems to have a similar amount of "pulling" power from the vacuum motor as the D.D.U has.

It even works on those nagging little late-night-in-the-dark-drags-on-the-grape-juice-jar spills. Not bad!
