If anyone has other suggestions for maintaining the cleanliness of our Airstreams, I for one would be pleased to learn about it.For my 99 Bambi (and more importantly, cuz I'm a full-timer in it), my blue carpetting gets REALLY dirty in something under two days of normal use.
The first step toward "fixing" the problem was the purchase of a Dirt
Devil Ultra. I suspect it's much like the one you have, but I do note that
the D.D.U. (just made that up, could you tell?) has a VERY aggressive rotating
brush, and the motor makes SO much noise that I'm tempted to believe that
it's really doing a pretty spectacular job.
Then, immediately thereafter, along came serious problem #2. Stains
on the carpet. The WORST being that cussed Community coffee that Doug has
so kindly got me addicted to Anyway, the cure turned out to be one of the Bissel "little green machine"
hand held Spot Lifters. It has a button on it to spray a fairly decent
amount of the liquid cleaner directly on the stains, and it seems to have
a similar amount of "pulling" power from the vacuum motor as the D.D.U
has.
It even works on those nagging little late-night-in-the-dark-drags-on-the-grape-juice-jar
spills. Not bad!
