It shouldn't make any difference, 2 6-volt batteries in series or 2 12-volters in parallel. You're looking for total amp-hours; that's the sum of the 2 12-volt batteries, but the amount in ONE 6-volt battery. Of course, a 6-volt battery of a given physical size will generally have twice the AH rating of a 12-volt one of the same physical size. Two golf-cart batteries would work well, but will probably be more expensive than $110.00 for the 2 batteries listed below.
