Sherry,

For my 1962 Bambi I purchased an industrial (forklift type) battery from NAPA Auto Parts. It fit the box and I'm now on my fifth year of service. Next year I plan on replacing it. I was told that they are a "heavier" battery than just a straight automotive battery, but not as good as the modern RV deep cycles.
I have found that it is adequate for my needs, however I am a bit conservative in my 12v power usage. As far as I know there isn't a Modern deep cycle available that will fit the outside battery box. Good luck in your search.
