It is my understanding that Airstream did not have showers until the early
1950's. The 1936-39 Airstream Clippers (which were the first aluminum sided
Airstreams) did not have any bathroom facilities including a toilet. Sometime
in the late '40's the Airstreams started to place toilets in closet like areas
but still did not offer this in very many units, it was more of a special
order item. In fact in all of the ten or so 1945 to '49 Airstream Clippers
that I have seen, none of them had even the toilet or any indication of one.

This doesn't mean that some trailers of that era did not have bathrooms with
showers but it is unlikely that it was an Airstream. Also realize that
holding tanks did not come into play until the mid to late '50's and were only
a special option at that. Prior to the holding tanks there was just a pipe to
outlet the waste water underneath the trailer!

Now the Silver Streaks and Spartons were a little more elaborate and it might
be possible that those trailers featured showers.

Be interesting to hear from folks who own trailers of that vintage.
